Cashco got its start in the 1970s – and while prices have increased since then, so has our experience and expertise.
Ron Runyan As the son of company founder Floyd Runyan, Ron has been associated with Cashco for more than three decades. As a boy he played among the aisles at our original location in Northeast Portland. Prior to joining Cashco on a permanent basis, Ron earned an economics degree from the University of Oregon and an MBA from Vanderbilt University, and held management positions with Ingram Book Company in Nashville and Sanda Communications in Portland. In 2003 he joined Cashco as Vice President, and became Cashco’s President in 2006. Cashco is in Ron’s blood, and his belief in the company is reflected in our attitude toward our customers. As he puts it, “We say we’re big in small things – not just because we sell travel sizes, but also because we focus on the small details that add up to big benefits for our customers. Our business is about making life better for customers. As long as we focus on that, we’ll be successful.” Ron spends much of his leisure time racing sailboats and flying airplanes. He has served on the Boards of the Willamette Sailing Club, the Oregon Youth Sailing Foundation, and the Lido 14 Class Association. He is passionate about working with at-risk children and has been a mentor and foster parent. He was active in theater early in his adult life, which led to a tour of Europe in 1995 to entertain U.S. and United Nations troops for the Department of Defense during the Bosnian War. |
